Mobile Device Management (MDM) and 3rd Party Device Management
Unlike Magic Leap 1 devices, which supported a Magic Leap device manager, Magic Leap 2 devices support enterprise mobile device and application management solutions to allow enterprise administrators to securely manage their devices. Magic Leap does not directly collect information from such mobile device and application management solutions, however, Magic Leap does provide tools and services to enterprises that enable them to configure their Magic Leap 2 device as a single device, or choose to manage the device through its own mobile device management (MDM) or third party device management, such as Android enterprise mobility management (EMM) and Google Mobile Services.
If you use a Magic Leap 2 device enrolled by an enterprise in a mobile device and application management solution, then the enterprise may have the ability to collect, process, and/or share information from such mobile device and application management solution and the ability to manage your Magic Leap 2 device, including remotely updating profiles and resetting devices. In addition, certain of your Magic Leap 2 device’s configurations may be preset by the enterprise, such as electing to share additional analytics information and crash reports with third parties or Magic Leap, or to disable user control over these and other settings. Please contact the enterprise’s administrator(s) for more details on how your Magic Leap 2 device has been configured.
Unlike Magic Leap 1, Magic Leap 2 devices do not include any pre-installed companion apps, nor does Magic Leap currently provide any mobile companion apps.
The Lab, a desktop application provided by Magic Leap, is a developer tool used to accelerate workflows for anyone creating with a Magic Leap 2 device by consolidating several tools and utilities in one place including device management, Quick SDK access, software package management, and access to external tools. Magic Leap does not directly collect information from The Lab, however, Magic Leap does enable enterprises to manage their Magic Leap 2 devices using The Lab. If you use a Magic Leap 2 device managed by an enterprise, then it may collect, process, and/or share certain device information from such Magic Leap 2 devices.
Unlike Magic Leap 1 devices, the Magicverse and Magic Leap 2 devices do not interoperate.
