Star Wars: Project Porg has launched exclusively for Magic Leap One. The coming together of Magic Leap and ILMxLAB, a collaboration forged back in 2016, has brought the world of Star Wars into our own using mixed reality.
You’re their only hope
Fans have to win over cute, fluffy porgs who made their debut in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Once best buds, users must nurture them, feed them treats and play with their feathered friends by teaching them how to navigate real-world environments like the home or studio. But fans are not alone. Guidance comes in the form of golden oldie C-3PO, the famous droid from the films, voiced by original cast member Anthony Daniels.
By combining these playful creations with Magic Leap One’s ability to give characters awareness and of their presence in the physical space, ILMxLAB have developed a location-based experience that’s not only a ton of fun, but unbelievably real.
May the porgs be with you
Star Wars: Project Porg is a shining example of how our favorite franchises can transition into spatial computing in a way that enhances the storytelling. The result? A more exciting, compelling experience for fans that no other medium can offer.
Star Wars: Project Porg is now available as a free download on Magic Leap World.
