2018: A Fond Farewell

| Rony Abovitz

What a year 2018 has been. We took our first steps into the Magicverse with the launch of Magic Leap One and invited the world to join us at our first ever L.E.A.P. Conference.

A year of mischief, magic and mixed reality.

What a year 2018 has been. Thank you for coming on this journey with us.

In 2018 we took our first steps into the Magicverse with the launch of Magic Leap One. We invited the world to join us at our first ever L.E.A.P. Conference. We met avatars, flung Angry Birds and fought off robot invaders. We partnered with AT&T to forge the future of 5G. And we got basketball fans closer to the court by teaming up with the NBA.

We have been humbled by the overwhelming response from creators to Magic Leap one. Our Independent Creator Program alone received more than 6,000 submissions, and we can’t wait to start announcing the grant winners early next year.

But this is only the beginning.

2019 will be even bigger. We’re forging more pioneering partnerships than ever before. Creators are joining our mission every day. New apps, tools and services are being created this very moment. And our vision to improve the human experience of the world through spatial computing has never been clearer.

So I just want to say again to all who have been on this journey with us, thank you. We couldn’t have done it without your belief, passion and support (and cool and kooky ideas, of course). And to my fearless, fierce, wonderful and passionate team of Leapers who worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality, thank you. None of this would be possible without each and every one of you.

May the new year bring exciting adventures, happiness, peace and just a little bit of magic to every man, woman and robot in the Magicverse and beyond.

Rony Abovitz Founder and CEO of Magic Leap.
