It’s official, folks—we’re in Austin! We’re in town March 8—15 for the biggest celebration of interactive film and music in the world. We’re bringing some of our award-winning activations so attendees from all over the world can encounter a new reality with Magic Leap.
FLOODfest 2019—Tues., 12-Wed., 13
We’re teaming up with cultural connoisseurs FLOOD Magazine to present FLOODfest 2019. Expect decibel blasting from Dungeon Family (featuring Big Boi from Outkast) and Broken Social Scene. You’ll also have the chance to touch music (and even make your own) in mixed reality with demos of Tónandi and AMBEO LAB, the groundbreaking Sennheiser Ambeo spatial audio app. Find us at Cedar Street Courtyard starting at 12 p.m. CT both days.
Royal Shakespeare Company / Andy Serkis’ Imaginarium—Sun., 10
We partnered with British Underground to bring the theatre to Austin. The Royal Shakespeare Company delivers its ‘7 Ages of Man,’ an exploration of ‘As You Like It.’ Then Andy Serkis’ Imaginarium takes you deeper into a new reality of performing arts - debuting a unique preview of their West End musical 'The Grinning Man,' only in Austin this weekend.
Classic or contemporary, both experiences employ cutting-edge volumetric capture, which involves filming each scene from multiple angles, to create 3D environments in which the audience can wander in and around the performance. This gives a whole new (and literal) meaning to “All the world’s a stage”.
Tónandi—Sat., 9 & Mon., 11
Our collaboration with Sigur Rós already has a shiny D.I.C.E. Award to its name. Now the immersive musical experience is up for another prestigious prize in the shape of a SXSW Interactive Innovation Award. No small feat. Demo Tónandi at the Finalist Showcase on March 9 and vote for the People’s Choice Award. Catch us at the Awards Ceremony on March 11, where we’ll be on the edge of our seats.
Boston Consulting Group—Sat., 9-Mon., 11
Boston Consulting Group is hosting private events that include TED Rooftop Conversations, and an immersive photography exhibit called Humanity Meets Technology. Here everyone can demo Magic Leap One and learn more about the vast potential of spatial computing.
