Reservation Terms and Conditions

These Reservation Terms and Conditions govern Magic Leap’s reservation process and will give you an idea of what to expect when reserving a Magic Leap One. By placing a reservation, you’re agreeing to be bound by these terms. If you don’t agree with these terms, you may not reserve a Magic Leap One.

Reserve Your Magic Leap One

It’s easy: once you type in the zip code where you want a Magic Leap One device delivered, we’ll tell you if we can deliver a Magic Leap One to your area. If we don’t deliver to your zip code yet and you are otherwise eligible as described in these terms, you can make a reservation for a Magic Leap One instead. Simply create or log into your Magic Leap Identity account, register for our Creator Portal (if you haven’t already), complete the reservation form, and pay the reservation fee. If we accept your reservation, we’ll confirm your reservation by emailing you once you’ve completed this process.

We reserve the right to limit the number of Magic Leap One devices you can reserve, and each one will require its own reservation fee. If we accept your reservation, you will be invited back to place an order for the number of Magic Leap One devices you reserved after they become available in your area. We will determine, in our sole discretion, the priority in which we invite you back to place an order. If you represent a business and would like to receive more devices on behalf of that business than we allow at our store, please contact Customer Care.

Who can Reserve?

The first Magic Leap One devices are only for creators. You must be a U.S. resident, and you cannot be barred from reserving a Magic Leap One under the laws of the United States (or of any other applicable jurisdiction) or under any of your agreements.

Processing Payments

You may only use valid payment methods acceptable to us to complete a reservation. When you make a reservation, you authorize us to charge the designated payment method you have chosen for the total amount of your reservation fee. If your payment method can’t be verified, is invalid, or is otherwise unacceptable, your reservation may be suspended or cancelled. You must resolve any problems we encounter to proceed with your reservation.

What Happens Next?

We want to be extra clear: your reservation is not an order or a purchase of a Magic Leap One. We’ll reach out to you with an invite when it’s time to confirm your order and complete your purchase. At that time, we’ll apply your reservation fee towards the full purchase price. Please note that Magic Leap may not be able to accept all orders. If, for any reason, we are unable to accept your order when you place it, you will get a refund of your reservation fee, as described below. Your purchase will be subject to our then-current Terms of Sale.

It’s important that the email address you provide us is valid, because that’s where we’ll send your reservation receipt, your invite, and details about future communications you can expect from Magic Leap.

Cancellations and Refunds

Please keep in mind that your reservation is not a guarantee that you’ll be able to buy a Magic Leap One. Until you come back and we confirm your order, you can cancel your reservation at any time, for any reason, and we’ll give you a full refund of your reservation fee. You can also reduce the number of Magic Leap One devices you have reserved until your order is confirmed (and, of course, get a refund for the cancelled portion of your reservation). Until your full purchase is confirmed, we also have the right to cancel your reservation – if we do, we’ll refund your reservation fee in full.


Your reservation is personal to you and can’t be transferred to anyone else without Magic Leap’s approval. (Tell your friends to make their own reservation!)

No Interest, No Escrow

We will not pay any interest on your reservation fee, and we will not hold your reservation fee separately or in an escrow.

Product & Price Changes

Magic Leap One is continually advancing, and may be different when we invite you back to make your order. We reserve the right to modify the full purchase amount for a Magic Leap One and it may vary (for example, because of applicable taxes or other charges).

Information About You

You will be asked to provide certain personal information (like your first and last name, phone number, payment information, shipping zip code, etc.) to set up your reservation. Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose information about you.


These terms and your reservation are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflicts of law principles. You agree that all claims and disputes arising out of or relating to these terms or the reservation process shall be exclusively filed in (and you consent to personal jurisdiction in) the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California. In the event of a dispute, you or we can cancel your reservation and your only remedy will be to receive a full refund of your reservation fee, as described above.
